Madison Hospital Update
David Spillers serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Huntsville Hospital. He joined Huntsville Hospital in March 2006.
Mr. Spillers began his health care career in 1981 with UNISYS Corporation designing and implementing software for the health care industry. In 1986 he joined Health Care Data Systems, a data processing center providing services for 28 health care facilities across five states. Mr. Spillers served as Vice President of External Operations and part owner.
Mr. Spillers joined Mission Hospitals in Asheville, North Carolina, in 1988, a regional referral center for 17 counties in western North Carolina that also owned two rural facilities. He was serving as Chief Operating Officer prior to coming to Huntsville Hospital.
Mr. Spillers received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration/Computer Science from Winthrop College and his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Mr. Spillers is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and Health Care Financial Management Association. He is also a member of the Huntsville Rotary Club, the Huntsville Committee of 100, and the Alabama Hospital Association. Mr. Spillers serves on the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Emergency Response Commission on Health Care Crisis for the State of Alabama. He has also been appointed to the Alabama State Health Planning and Development Agency’s Statewide Health Coordinating Council.
Mr. Spillers and his wife Cindy are originally from York, South Carolina.
